Group options / checkbox not working

I set up an option group and put a checkbox option in it. The option is being shown in the product itself (backend) but I cannot get the box to work. I activate it and set up the required inputs but when saving "active" changes to "not active". In the settings of this option I don't get the "options" as I get when using "dropdown" as an option, e.g. Did I miss something?
